Dear Fellow Survivor Blog: About Me

Blog, SURVIVORS Blog - Dear Fellow Survivor

Summary

This is a blog post series by the author who wrote the devotion series "Dear Survivor". Follow along as he blogs about the background of his experience on his continued journey of healing.

I am a child of God. I am a husband. I am a father. I am a pastor. And I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse.

Previously, I wrote ten devotional letters, also called “Dear Fellow Survivor,” which you’ll find in the devotions section of this website. I encourage you to read those letters before diving into this blog. They will give you more background on my experience and the nature of my continuing journey of healing.

My goal in writing this blog is to share my survivor’s experience. My experience is not the same as your experience. Nor is my journey the same as your journey. However, I have learned that survivors often have similar experiences, fears, and struggles. I pray that you will find help, hope, and healing as I share my journey with you. I pray that, if nothing else, you will be able to see that you are not alone.

Some of my posts will contain explicit language. It’s hard to write about the experience of a survivor of childhood sexual abuse without getting explicit at times. However, I will place a warning at the beginning of any posts containing explicit language so you will know beforehand that it’s there and can decide whether to read it.

I am grateful to Freedom for the Captives for allowing me to share my journey with you, my dear fellow survivor. May God bless this effort to bring hope and healing to many of his hurting children.
